As many of you know, I started Hat Creek in my Watertown kitchen in 1999 with $750 and a passion for creating.  It certainly has been a wild and challenging ride with all the highest highs and lowest lows that you come to expect as an entrepreneur and business owner.  We've learned so much over these many years, met some amazing people, experienced new and wonderful things and even gained some lifelong friendships. And thanks to customers like YOU, we grew Hat Creek from nothing more than a dream to a thriving business dedicated to serving candle and home fragrance lovers all over the world! But now new seeds of change have sprouted in my heart and the time to turn a new chapter is calling... more about THAT a little further down :) As you might have guessed by now, the BIG NEWS is that in order to follow this new calling, I have made the decision to retire from candle-making and will be winding Hat Creek down over the next few weeks. Some of you may know that I am a 15 yr, Stage IV cancer survivor, and I was able to heal through natural methods - primarily diet and lifestyle changes.  I’ve been wanting for so many years (and after talking with so many people) to create a community around helping women and their families who have been touched by cancer to understand the steps they can take to lead a healthier, cancer-free lifestyle. It's really something very deeply meaningful and inspiring to me and we are looking forward to informing, serving and inspiring others! The seeds were really planted last year, but it’s really still just in the beginning stages as up to now I've only had limited time and resources to put toward it. But now my 17 yr old daughter Nina, who has been vegan for 3 years has decided to join me on this mission.  It's really a dream come true!  She’s been helping me with the marketing, subscription boxes and FaceBook Lives at Hat Creek and now we get to take that synergy to serve a whole new audience!
